Local empowerment

Urafields is committed to working with local populations, government authorities, businesses and trade unions, to ensure local stakeholder engagement with its operations and the empowerment of local people.

Its management is committed to the promotion of socio-economic empowerment through compliance with the provisions of the Broad-based Socio-Economic Charter for the South African Continent Mining Industry (the Mining Charter).

The company boasts among its shareholders a local trade union pension fund and a local women's group and some black individuals who are professionals in the mining sector.
